Mercedes-AMG has officially revealed the new GT 4-Door Coupé, a model that marks the performance division’s definitive entry into the electric era.
According to the website Motor1, the car abandons the traditional V8 engine in favor of a fully electric setup with up to three motors delivering more than 1,100 hp.
The model is built on the new AMG.EA platform, developed exclusively for high-performance electric vehicles. The initial versions will be the GT 55 and GT 63, with the top-of-the-line variant delivering around 1,169 hp.

According to Mercedes-AMG, the GT accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 2.4 seconds. The car uses axial-flux motors, a technology being used for the first time in one of the brand’s production models.
The 106 kWh battery uses an 800-volt architecture and supports charging at up to 600 kW. According to the manufacturer, the system can recharge from 10% to 80% in about 11 minutes. Estimated range under the WLTP cycle reaches approximately 700 kilometers.

Even without the V8, AMG has tried to preserve part of the line’s sound identity. The model will feature an artificial system that simulates the roar of a V8 engine and virtual gear changes while driving.

Visually, the GT 4-Door features a completely new design inspired by the AMG GT XX concept, with a more aerodynamic body, a new lighting signature and an interior dominated by digital screens.
Mercedes has not yet announced official prices, but the expectation is that the new electric GT 4-Door will be positioned above the current AMG GT 4-Door models with V8 engines. Deliveries are expected to begin in late 2026.
